“Failure” is one of the words we are reluctant to use. Set-backs, whatever we want to call them, are a key part of ultimate success if we can learn from them.
The key to dealing with failure is to understand how it affects us and use the emotion we feel to generate energy for the next step. The very best sportsmen and women do this routinely.
It can be very hard to recover from set-backs. This is when support from others can be powerful. Very often that person, for example a coach, will have less ability than you! However if they can stay objective they will continue to believe in you, when your own self-belief wanes.
