Will England make number 1?

Andy Flower has been reappointed as England’s leader. He has set out his objective clearly: make England number one in the world (see the Times article).

Will he succeed? Actually I am not sure. I do think his track record is excellent, with England winning the Ashes and then retaining them in tough old Oz.

But one thing is for sure. No vision, no progress.

You have to aim somewhere to make progress. The vision Flower has won’t guarantee success, but success will elude him without it.

Clearly articulated vision, with a plan to implement his ideas should get old blighty back on the road to winning again.

There’s also plenty of talent in playing and managing the team too.

But without the vision there would be no progress.
